yes, i especially know this. but these other places all have other ways of getting around (biking, public transportation etc.). in rural GA it is impossible to get anywhere without the car. so our family budget really is impacted when we go from spending $20.00/week to fill up the car to $50.00. and i will admit that my sanity suffers too because i don't go anywhere during the week anymore other than my 1 grocery shopping trip and church.
the only thing that is saving our family budget now is that aaron rides his motorcycle to work.
my hope is that this will cause americans to wake up and start investing in things in their communities like sidewalks (!), bike lanes, public transport, locally grown produce, and of course less expensive hybrid cars.
